SINGER
Summer is a lyric soprano by day, and a jazz singer by night. She has had 5 years of classical vocal training. While in undergrad, she was part of the university's chorale, performed in musicals, and was a soloist in numerous events for the university. At Mary Baldwin University, she has studied under the tutelage of Broadway's Nancy Anderson both in class and in one-on-one lessons. Two of her favorite experiences were participating in a vocal masterclass from Tony-nominated Laura Osnes and performing as part of the Young Adults Choir for the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr. Eph Ehly. During her MFA, Summer has served both as lead and co-director for music in every production in the MFA's Fireside Shakespeare Company's 2020-2021 season. She has arranged choral pieces, curated soundscapes, directed music rehearsals, and worked one-on-one with vocalists for the productions. Currently, she is serving as lead music director for King Lear, directed by Kate Eastwood Norris. Though painfully cliche, Summer's dream is to one day play Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera. Until then, she'll sing too loudly in her apartment. |
